My Personal Challenge to All #100HappyDays Participants

#100HappyDays#100HappyDays

If you are active on Facebook and/or Instagram, you might have seen your friends posting pictures everyday and tagging it with the hashtag #100HappyDays.

If you’re wondering what that is all about, you can read more about it here.

Now, if you are reading this and you are already undertaking the #100HappyDays challenge, I want to congratulate you in advance for finishing the challenge!

What day are you on the challenge?

I bet you’re almost finished! I think I saw the first few posts around February 2014.

So what happens after you successfully finish challenge?

I want to challenge you to something I have done for the past 3 years.

Life after #100HappyDays

I am not sure if the creator of the #100HappyDays challenge has something in store for those who finish it.

But if you are up for another challenge that will guarantee your happiness every day, here are the things that I want you to do:

1. Commit

Just like the #100HappyDays challenge, I need your full commitment to this challenge. I am very confident that you can commit to doing this because your previous challenge is definitely not an easy task. Especially when you were starting out.

Remember, “Everything you want in life is just outside your comfort zone.

2. Create/Buy a journal

I don’t know what kind of journal fits your style. You can go for a physical journal or you can go for an electronic journal.

I’ve been doing this challenge for around 3 years now. At first, I started out with a physical notebook/journal then later on transitioned into an electronic journal.

What I like about Evernote is that I can access it anywhere (via web, iOS or Android) and I can use it even without an internet connection. You can also attach pictures and files to your notes to make it more exciting and memorable!

3. Be grateful every day

For the rest of your life.

Yes, this is a lifetime challenge.

How?

It’s super simple. What I need you to do is to log at least three (3) unique reasons / events / things that made you grateful for the day.

Write it like this: “Thank You for _______________!”

Make sure that you write something unique! If you are finding patterns on the things that you are grateful for then it means that you are not appreciating some of the blessings that happen to you each day. Look harder 🙂

Since you have underwent with the #100HappyDays challenge, you can incorporate this habit to your journal. You can still snap pictures of what made you happy/grateful and attach it to your note for the day. (Here’s where I saw the value of having Evernote as my journal).

You can log as your day goes by or you can log at the end of your day before you sleep.

4. Read and re-read

Your Gratitude Journal (Yes, that’s what your journal is called) is one powerful tool.

When you feel sad and down in the dumps on a particular day, you can simply open your gratitude journal and read some of your entries!

It’s amazing how you can go back and relive the moments that made you grateful. You will become instantly happy and feel infinitely blessed any time you want to!

Are you ready for this next challenge?

So are you ready to take on my challenge?

By the way, did you know that if you are grateful, then you will be happy (and not the other way around)?

I posted earlier that this claim has scientific basis.

What I like about this challenge is that you will be accountable to yourself. You don’t need to announce on Instagram or Facebook that you have already logged the things you are grateful for.

You just have to do it silently and privately, every day for the rest of your life. Actually, prior to posting this, only a handful of people know that I have a gratitude journal. Now you’re in to my secret, shhhhhh.. :p

Lastly, don’t forget to share so that your friends will know about this awesome challenge too!
