Our Experience (so far!) with Hand-Me-Downs
My wife and I are really blessed with friends and family that gave Avery beautiful hand-me-downs.
We understand how quickly newborns and infants grow that’s why we really set our mind on actively seeking hand-me-downs from them.
Don’t get me wrong, we also bought new stuff for him but not before careful deliberation and assessment.
From time to time, as parents, we still have the urge to buy him cute things just for the sake of cuteness.
But, with all the hand-me-downs we received, we didn’t need to buy that much.
Aside from baby clothes, we were also handed down a baby stroller, a car seat, a high chair, a UV sterilizer, a set of pillows, two cribs (yes, two!), a baby rocker, a bunch of toys, a baby carrier, a baby food blender, and baby books.
Along with these are the good memories and countless stories that came along with them.
My estimate is that we saved a 6-digit amount with all these! Now we can easily reallocate our finances to other priorities.

My kid all have worn me downs at some point.
My oldest loves wool now, and he wears mostly vintage wool.
My daughter has sooooo many Hand me downs. I usually only need to buy her undies, socks , tights and I look for jean jackets for her at garage sales + add in shirts from places, like camp or vacation.She did need new winter boots, but clearanced. She still has her own style. She styles her clothes in her own way.
Adds in jewelry & headbands. She’s well dressed. And we pass it all down. And the family we pass it to, passes it down again!
